🧼 Soap Care & Info

At OV Luxury Soap, I handcraft each bar in small batches using natural and organic oils and butters, along with select pasture-raised animal fats for a creamy, nourishing lather. I also incorporate botanical infusions, herbal teas, aloe juice, coconut and goat milk, honey, and oats to enhance skin benefits and support gentle, luxurious cleansing.

Because I work with nature and craft every bar by hand, each soap is unique — a reflection of pure ingredients, traditional methods, and mindful artistry.

🌿 Scents

I offer different scent options to suit your skin and your senses:

  • Unscented soaps — pure, gentle, ideal for sensitive skin, babies, and newborns.

  • Essential oil soaps — naturally aromatic, made with pure botanicals that uplift, calm, or refresh.

  • Fragrance oil soaps — scented with high-quality fragrance oils for long-lasting, refined aromas.

Note: Essential oil scents may soften or fade over time — this is natural.
Fragrance oils tend to stay stronger and last longer.

🌸 Botanicals & Natural Additions

Many bars are enriched with:

  • Herbal-infused oils and botanical tea infusions for gentle nourishment

  • Goat milk, coconut milk, or aloe juice for a soothing, creamy lather

  • Honey, oats, and other nature-derived ingredients for extra softness and hydration

Each recipe is thoughtfully balanced to cleanse without stripping skin — with no synthetic detergents, harsh chemicals, or fillers.

🧼 About Lye in Handmade Soap

All traditional soap requires lye (sodium hydroxide) to transform oils into soap through the natural saponification process. While lye is essential in making the soap, no lye remains in the finished bars — it is completely neutralized during curing.

I do not list lye in each individual ingredient section because it is part of the soap-making reaction, not a remaining ingredient.

Distilled water is used in every recipe unless replaced with another liquid such as milk, aloe juice, herbal teas, or other natural botanicals.

💧 Usage & Lather

My soaps are suitable for face and body, creating a rich, creamy lather that rinses clean.

To extend the life of your bar:

  • Use a soap saver bag or natural sponge for extra bubbles

  • Allow the bar to dry fully between uses on a draining soap dish

With proper care, each bar typically lasts 3–4 weeks or longer.

🎨 Color & Appearance

Every bar is hand-poured and hand-cut, so no two are alike.
I use natural mineral clays and ethically sourced mica for color — never synthetic dyes.

Variations in color and swirls are part of the beauty of handcrafted soap.

🕊️ Shelf Life

With proper storage, the soap itself can last 12 months or longer
Natural essential oil scents may begin to fade after a few months — especially in unwrapped bars — which is a normal characteristic of botanical fragrances.
For best freshness, store extra bars in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity.

🛡️ Skin Considerations

My soaps are formulated to be gentle and nourishing for most skin types, including sensitive skin.

For newborns and very young babies, I recommend using bars specifically labeled and formulated for baby skin, as not all unscented soaps are suitable for newborns.

Unscented bars are generally great for those who prefer no fragrance or have fragrance sensitivities.

As with any skincare product, patch test if you have easily reactive skin.

All bars are free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and synthetic detergents.

🌞 Storage Tips

  • Keep unused bars wrapped until ready to use.

  • Store in a cool, dry area — a linen closet works beautifully.

  • Avoid direct sunlight and heat, which can soften natural soap or fade essential oil scents.
